Air Quality Flag Program

Here’s how the Air Quality Flag Program works: each day your organization raises a flag that corresponds to how clean or polluted the air is. The color of the flag matches EPA’s Air Quality Index (AQI): green, yellow, orange, red, and purple. On unhealthy days, your organization can use this information to adjust physical activities to help reduce exposure to air pollution, while still keeping people active. Click here to learn more about the flag program. The Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America is a trusted source for patients. Their website is a great resource for people living with allergies and asthma. Another great resource is Kids with Food Allergiesa division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

American Lung Association

The American Lung Association is committed to supporting those affected by asthma and offers a variety of resources and information about the disease. Check out some of their key asthma support and education resources here.

American Academy of Pediatrics

Tobacco use by adolescents and young adults is an immediate health concern. Tobacco dependence treatment for youth should be tailored to the patient’s level of nicotine dependence and readiness for change, per AAP Policy. The resources included on their website are intended to support pediatricians and other healthcare professionals who care for youth in helping their patients quit successfully.
