Asthma Friendly Hospital

The Florida Asthma Coalition recognizes the valuable role hospitals play in caring for patients with asthma and developed the Asthma-Friendly Hospital recognition by collaborating with administrative, clinical, and supportive partners across the state. The steps taken by hospitals to earn this recognition will also help to significantly reduce unnecessary hospital visits and re-admissions, as well as improve overall health outcomes.

The Asthma-Friendly Hospital Recognition Application is accepted year-round on a rolling basis. For hospitals that have already received recognition and are looking to reapply, please complete the Asthma-Friendly Hospital Recertification Application. Both the Asthma-Friendly Hospital recognition and recertification are valid for two years from the award date.

Awarded Hospitals also receive a certificate recognizing this achievement, press releases if desired, and a customized logo to be utilized for marketing their status as an Asthma-Friendly Hospital recognized by the Florida Asthma Coalition.
